New Life Safe Guidelines of Returning to Inside Worship

Stay at home if you are sick please

Enter through the southwest door at the overhang and proceed down the center aisle.  An usher will assist you in finding a socially distanced seat.  Family units sit together.  Children must sit in the sanctuary with their family.  To exit use the side aisles and exit at the front of the sanctuary and out the southeast door.

Facial covering (masks) are required at all times inside the building.

Social distancing will be required.  Please refrain from handshakes and hugs.

A greeter will arrive early (by 4:30pm) to open doors and turn on lights and will check and record your temperature as you enter the building.  This is for several purposes: a record of your temperatures, a record of attendance and can be used for contact tracing if necessary.

Please do not enter the building until a greeter is present. Outside doors to be left open to allow outside air inside.

There will be no fellowship time in the foreseeable future.

Facial masks, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will be readily available.

Hymnals, Bibles and paperwork have been removed from the pew racks.  Worship and calendar information will be displayed on the screen and be available online.

Offering plates will be placed at the sanctuary entrance and not passed through the pews.

New Life will have designated pews and Evans will have designated pews.

We will not sing as a congregation or read prayers or liturgies together during the worship service.

Restrooms will have single access and will be sanitized after service by that week’s sanitizing volunteer. Doorknobs and light switches will also be wiped down after service.

There will be a signup sheet to volunteer for usher, greeter and sanitizers (2) in the front, bring your own pen from home or take a clean pen and after use put it in the designated can for used pens and pencils, used pens and pencils will be cleaned after service for next week. All adults are expected to take their turns at all positions.

Children’s Ministry and Nursery will not be available at Phase 4.

Services will continue on Facebook live for our folks who feel safer at home.

New Life UMC will tentatively return on October 3.  NL Youth Group will tentatively return on October 2 or possibly sooner if inclement weather. If for any reason the State shuts down again we will resume online worship.

It is uncertain how long this phase 4 will last.
